The pillars of st. peter

I am sure you have all seen the art display on the left side of the church as you either enter through the basement or walking up to our new grotto of the Virgin Mary. Have you every wondered what it represents?

Those two pillars represent the sentinels who would of been guarding Peter when King Herod imprisoned him much to the delight of the Jews. Not only was he imprisoned and guarded by two guards outside his door and by two guards in the cell, Peter was also put in chains. The angel of the Lord appeared, woke him up and had Peter follow him out of the prison to Mary's house.

The giant rock represents St. Peter (the rock), but I am sure you all new that one.
