teriyaki burgers

AUNTIE DONNA’S TERIYAKI BURGERS



2 cloves garlic, minces

1 tbsp fresh grated ginger

¼ cup thick teriyaki sauce

3 finely chopped green onions

¼ cup toasted sesame seeds

½ dry breadcrumbs (I use toast and whiz it in the pepper grinder)

1 ½ pound ground turkey (or chicken)


Toppings:

Lettuce

Tomatoe slices

Pineapple

Mayonnaise

Wasabi paste (Japanese horseradish)


Combine first 6 ingredients into paste, and then add the turkey meat just until combined. Use greased hand to shape into 6 burger patties – mixture will be sticky. Broil or grill 4-6” from broiler or over medium-high colas for 10-12 minutes, turning once. Serve with toppings of choice.
