palm sunday

Here we are, the start of the holiest of weeks for us as Christians, Palm Sunday, which takes into account all that happened with Jesus after his majestic entry to Jerusalem. The crowds are triple in size as they lay down palm branches (a symbol of triumph). They sing and cheer praises for Him: “Hosanna to the Son of David” and “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”, honouring the long-awaited Messiah and the King. Riding into Jerusalem on a donkey (a symbol of peace), which in those times was the usual custom for kings and the nobles, to imply that those who ride upon them get their intentions peacefully solved. We are blessed here at St. Peter's to have the Man of the Shroud on display during Holy Week, to help us better "see" the sacrifice our dear Lord and Savior made for us. Be sure to not only check it out, but take in the videos and talks available while the Shroud is here. There are so many events going on to help us in deepening our faith through prayer.
