ways you can get involved:
  • Education Bursary:    This year a $1500 and $1000 bursary is awarded to two deserving young women entering  their first or second year at a post-secondary institution.  Congratulations to our 2021 Bursary recipient Lauren Debeljak.  Click here for 2022 application form.

  • NATIONAL BURSARY FUND:  The national bursary program was established following Pope John Paul II’s Exhortation  Christifideles Laici” (Role of the Laity,) in 1988.  It provides up to $1000 for members who wish to pursue studies in areas such as spiritual growth/formation, various ministries, parliamentary procedure, etc.  Click the "National Bursary Fund" for the application form and go the National Catholic Woman's League webpage under Resources for more information.  From the City of Calgary Recreation Calendar to the University of Calgary, there is no shortage of institutions offering continuing education opportunities ranging from personal interest, evening presentations, to full accreditation programs and credit courses – see Catholic Educational Opportunities Calgary and Educational Opportunities Calgary.

  • Parish Schools Rosary Program:  The rosary was a favourite prayer of our late Holy Father John Paul II. During May, CWL members will be going into the parish schools to review the rosary with Grade 2 students.

  • Parish Schools Feast Day Recognition:  St. Peter’s CWL is a strong supporter of Catholic Education in Alberta, and we pray for the students and staff of all the schools in our parish.  We are particularly pleased to recognize each of our parish schools on their designated name or feast day with flowers and a card:

    • St. Ambrose – December 2017

    • St. Brigid – January 2018

    • St. Maria Goretti – January 2018

    • St. Sylvester – January 2018
